Mission Statement

The Amici Journal is a celebration of what it means to be Italian-American, and it’s also a celebration of culture and life -something we all can share. We fascinated by Italy’s cultural works, and are dedicated to elaborate and explore the history of Italian culture and art and the Italian-Americans who have impacted our community. Through the Journal, we will explore great Italian restaurants, highlight the artist and musicians who embody the romantic ideals of the Italian-American heart, feature businesses that impact the community, emphasis notable people and bring you news of interest. The Journal will also support the endeavors of all the Italian-American social and charitable clubs in the Chicagoland area, and will help pro-mote these organizations, their efforts and the community in general. To that end, we invite anyone to submit press releases, promotional materials, story ideas and upcoming events for publication.

Editorial Profile

The Amici Journal addresses all aspects of the Italian-American experience that impacts Chicagoland. It features business and community leaders, artists, musicians, wineries, fashion, and exotic automobiles. Explore the cultural culinary and other lifestyle aspects of present day Chicagoans, including highlighting various Italian American Organizations, and the past and present contributions of Italian culture and art in Our community.

Demographic

Italian American readership characteristics include:

• Wealthiest consumer market—representing less than one percent of all households. Median income is over $170,000 3.5 times the national median, and median home value is almost $1,000,000. Householders are in their peak earning years, 45-64, primarily in family households with no children or older children. The median age is 43 years.

• Connoisseurs Second in wealth among the consumer markets, but first in conspicuous consumption, Connoisseurs are slightly older, with a median age of almost 45 years, and closer to retirement than child rearing. Their neighborhoods tend to be older, bastions of affluence where the median home value is over $511,000 and growth is slow.

• Professional couples who live an urbane, chic lifestyle; they own their homes in the city and focus on trends in clothing, dining, entertainment, automobiles, travel and home furnishings. Median home values are $500,000 median age 41.

• Successful suburbanites are the epitome of upward mobility, just a couple rungs below the top and situated recently in growing neighborhoods of affluent homes with a median home value over $377,000. Most are two-income families with children. The household population is younger, median age of 40 years, well educated and well employed.
